Jesus warned us that false prophets would arise and mislead many. Peter, John, and Paul echoed this warning and the history of Christianity clearly demonstrates that many false prophets and teachers have led good people into apostasy. Beginning with Christian Gnosticism, men have appealed to philosophies foreign to the foundation of Christianity to interpret the Scriptures, pulled Scripture out of context, redefined and argued over words, and ignored Scripture that disproves personal philosophies and agendas. What is commonly termed Gay Theology is one of the newest theologies based philosophies of men that has led people away from God's revealed truth.
2nd Peter 2:1-3
1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; 3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. NAS
In Matthew 19 Jesus plainly teaches that remarriage after a divorce is equal to adultery, the institutional church has ignored this teaching so that men and women who follow their "sensuality" will have the blessing of their church. In John 5:24 Jesus plainly states:
John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. NAS
Gay theology has chosen to believe false prophets and teachers not "Him who sent" the Lord Jesus Christ. In the Torah God established a moral code for all who would become citizens of His kingdom ("pass out of death into life"). This moral code is reiterated in the NT. It is not my purpose to rehash the "clobber verses" in this article, my purpose with this article is to address those Scriptures that are ignored by all false prophets who teach a "different gospel".
What is the Gospel that Jesus was sent to preach and what is the foundation of the Gospel that Jesus was sent to preach?
Luke 4:43
"I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose." NAS
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, 20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; 22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit. NAS
This Gospel Jesus preached is the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and the foundation of his Gospel includes the prophets or the Old Testament, which includes the Torah (Law). What was God's stated purpose for giving the Hebrews the Law?
Exodus 19:1-6
1 In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. 2 When they set out from Rephidim, they came to the wilderness of Sinai, and camped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped in front of the mountain. 3 And Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel: 4 'You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to Myself. 5 'Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the peoples, for all the earth is Mine; 6 and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you shall speak to the sons of Israel. " NAS
God's stated purpose was to establish a "kingdom of priests and a holy nation" comprised of those who "obey" and "keep" His "covenant". God's purpose has not changed, however what was impossible under the covenant of the Law is possible under the New Covenant that God established with the house of Israel and the house of Judah (Jeremiah 31:31-32), a covenant that men have tried to redefine by appealing to false prophets.
The other half of the foundation of the Gospel is the apostles.
1st Peter 2:9-10
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. NAS
The issues that faces all of us is not if God created us gay or straight, male or female, gentile or Jew; the issue that faces all who put their hope in Jesus the Christ is who we obey. Jesus equated love for him with keeping his commandments and he gave us two commandments that we must obey or suffer the consequences.
Matthew 22:37-40
37 And He said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 "This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 "The second is like it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." NAS
Joshua issued this challenge to the Israelites.
Joshua 24:15
And if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." NAS
We face the same challenge, are we going to serve the LORD or are we going to serve theologies that deny and pervert the foundation of our faith? Gay or straight, male or female, gentile or Jew all who reject God's truth by following their sensuality and the philosophies of men will suffer lose.
Revelation 21:7-8
7 "He who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. 8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." NAS
Jesus said:
Matthew 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen." NAS
Are you among the many or the few? The choice is yours, are you going to follow the LORD or manmade theologies that teach a different gospel?
