Let me introduce myself, my name is Bob and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado where I was born in 1943, which is on the Western Slope of Colorado at the base of Grand Mesa with my toy poodle Skia. My brother Donald took this picture when we visited the Monterey Aquarium about a month before he passed away due to complications from AIDS. As you read my site you will now be able to relate to me as a person not just some anonymous individual on the net. I think it is important that you realize that what I share on this site is real and by publishing my picture I believe I am adding credibility to my story.
As I stated above I was born in 1943 in Grand Junction. I graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1961; attended Mesa State College for a couple of years and earned a BA in Business Administration from Western State College of Colorado in 1966.
Like many who deal with same sex desires I knew I was "different" at an early age, however I did not accept that I was "gay" until my second year of college and came out a couple of years later. I became political in 1970 and as a member of a local Gay Liberation Front actively worked for gay rights, helped charter an UFMCC congregation, and although I am now a Biblical Unitarian and ex-gay (for lack of a better term) I still support equal rights for all the LGBT community. As a result of this position many religious right Christians view me as a wolf in sheep's clothing.
The flip side is that gay activists view me as a religious bigot who is living a life of internalized homophobia and self denial who is pandering to the religious right. This is laughable and ludicrous, since for the most part the religious right considers Biblical Unitarians heretics.
